Planet Saturn
The planet Saturn is the sixth planet from our sun and it is the second largest in our solar system.
It has a diamete of 119,300 kilometers or 74130 miles. Much of the stuff we know about the
planet Saturn we have learned is from Voyager's exploration in 1980-1981. A day on the planet
Saturn is 10 hours and 39 minutes long and it takes about 25.5 Earth years to travel around the
sun. Saturn's atmosphere is primarly made up of hydrogen but there are some small traces of
helium and methane. It is the only planet that is less dense then water, which is less than
30%. So if Saturn there was a large enough ocea that Saturn could fit into the planet would
float. Also its rings make the planet one of the most beauityful object in our universe and it
has 18 known moons.
On the planet there the wind blows at very high speeds and it's velocity at the equator is 500
metters per second or 1100 miles per hour. The win mostly blows in the easternly direction, and
the strongest winds are found near the equator. And at latitudes greator than 35 degrees the
winds will alternate from east to west.
